| Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How much does each driving lesson cost?
A: Each lesson is $50 for three-quarters of an hour. Please view our prices page for more information.
Q: Why dont lessons go for 1 hour like some of the
other schools?
A: At defensive, we put a lot of effort into making every minute of the lesson 100 % effective. Our experience shows that the concentration levels and the ability to absorb information beyond 45 minutes is significantly minimised. Longer lessons are only productive when the basics skills are well developed.
Q: How many lessons does it take to pass the driving examination?
A: It varies from student to student, but be assured that
we have the patience and commitment to get you driving with
confidence in the shortest time possible. A realistic target
is between 10 - 12 lessons.
Q: How many lessons do you recommend a week for beginners?
A: It’s always good to have lessons twice a week for the first few weeks as this enables you to accomplish the basic skills more quickly through regular practice. You are then better equipped to learn the more complex skills and knowledge in later lessons.

Q: Can I do my lessons on the weekends?
A: Most lesson appointments are available between 7.00am and 6.00pm weekdays. Most instructors work on Saturdays between 7.00am and 12.00noon. In some cases, instructors may be available outside these times by appointment.
Q: Can you pick up students from one place and drop them off at another?
A: Yes, if it’s within reason and within the time available. Consideration must be made that each lesson includes the necessary requirements in order to progress to the next level and providing the instructor can accommodate the locations with his/her other lessons.
Q: Do you book the examination dates for the students?
A: We have tried this a number of times and have found that it is in your best interest to book your own test as it gives you the opportunity to pick times that are most suitable to meet your needs. Some schools book times that are convenient to them rather than giving consideration to their students, Defensive Driving School doesn’t wish to inconvenience its students. |
